Richmond, TX (January 18, 2010) — OCuSOFT, Inc., a broad based supplier of ophthalmic pharmaceuticals and supplies, is pleased to announce the introduction of TetraVisc FORTE, a new advance in topical ophthalmic anesthesia. TetraVisc, the original topical anesthetic gel, is ideal for use in routine procedures and will still be available.

 

Fortified with higher viscosity, TetraVisc FORTE increases corneal contact time providing longer anesthesia than other traditional ophthalmic anesthetics and significantly improves pain levels in post-operative patients. Conveniently packaged in multi-dose 5 mL dropper bottles and single unit-of-use 0.6 mL bottles, TetraVisc FORTE is easy to instill while offering a number of other advantages over anesthetic jelly (commonly used off-label for a number of years in cataract surgery) including: rapid and immediate dispersion across the cornea eliminating the need for multiple drops or supplemental intracameral anesthesia and increased efficiency in the operating room or the clinic.
