Significant Savings Reported with
TetraVisc FORTE vs Alternative

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Richmond, TX (April 22, 2010) — OCuSOFT, Inc., a multi-line manufacturer/distributor specializing in ophthalmic research and development, is pleased to announce the results of a recent study1 comparing the topical anesthetic effects of TetraVisc FORTE, tetracaine hydrochloride 0.5% (OCuSOFT, Inc.), and Akten, lidocaine hydrochloride 3.5% (Akorn, Inc.). Significantly, TetraVisc FORTE demonstrated the SAME anesthetic efficacy as Akten at a fraction of the cost.

Paul S. Koch, M.D. reports, “Both TetraVisc FORTE and Akten provide excellent and equivalent topical anesthesia. However, the cost per patient is a big differentiating factor. Akten is five times as much as the TetraVisc FORTE unit-dose bottles and 55 times as much as the TetraVisc FORTE multi-dose bottle.”

Formulated with higher viscosity, TetraVisc FORTE increases corneal contact time, improves pain levels in post-operative patients and is an affordable alternative to traditional ophthalmic anesthetics. Available in convenient multi-dose 5 mL dropper bottles and single unit-of-use 0.6 mL bottles, TetraVisc FORTE increases efficiency in the operating room or the clinic.
