is pleased to announce the appointment of Edward J.
Holland, M.D. to its Medical Scientific Advisory Board.
Dr. Holland is
Director of Cornea and External Disease at Cincinnati Eye
Institute (CEI) and Professor of Clinical
Ophthalmology
at University of Cincinnati. He is Director of the American
Academy of Ophthalmology Skills Transfer Courses, and as
such, is responsible for programs to train Ophthalmologists
in refractive
and other new surgical techniques across the United States.
He received his Medical Degree from Loyola- Stritch School
of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois and trained in Ophthalmology
at
University of Minnesota. Dr. Holland completed a Fellowship
in cornea and external disease at University of Iowa, and
then completed a second Fellowship in ocular immunology
at National
Eye Institute in Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. Holland has a national
and international reputation for his knowledge and expertise
in the field of cornea and external
disease. He is frequently invited to lecture both nationally
and internationally. Dr. Holland is the author of over
100 articles in peer review journals and has edited Cornea,
the most widely
read textbook on corneal disease and surgery. He also
co-edited the textbook, Ocular Surface Disease: Medical and
Surgical
Management.
