CYNACON / OCuSOFT®, a broad-based supplier of eye care products based in Richmond, Texas, is pleased to announce Patrick H. "Pat" Witham has been named a Vice-President of the Company. In addition to his responsibilities as Vice-President, Pat will also serve as the General Manager of OCuSOFT Surgical, a new division within CYNACON / OCuSOFT®. Pat will have over-all responsibility for operations of the Surgical Division including product development, training and sales.

Pat is a graduate of the University of Oregon and comes to CYNACON/OCuSOFT® after a merger of Opti-Solutions, Inc, a company that he founded in 1999 and which has provided a variety of OEM products to the ophthalmic industry. OEM will continue to be an important part of OCuSOFT Surgical, however, now with the benefit of CYNACON/OCuSOFT's sales force it will be possible to strategically target select products on a continuing basis. Pat formerly served as an ophthalmic technician and surgical assistant at Oregon Eye Associates working with a respected group of ophthalmologists that included Howard Fine, M.D. Pat continues to be an instructor for JCAPO-certified courses throughout the United States.
